Learning rooms - STEM Club - prepare for launch!
Learning Rooms STEM Club - Prepare for launch!

For several years, Dr Katherine Forsey CSciTeach and the STEM Ambassador team at Gratnells Learning Rooms have been working with teachers, technicians, school and community groups to develop and deliver STEM activities. For the last two years, Katherine has been running a weekly community STEM Club. In September 2021, we're combining all our experience to launch new Learning Rooms STEM Club to provide free access to over 40 of our ready-made, tried and tested, STEM Club activities. Join us in this interactive session to explore our six half-termly STEM Club activity packages and take part in live five minute STEM challenge (bring your own kit, see kit list below, there may be a prize!). Many of the practical activities can also be used to support and enrich teaching of the science curriculum. Find out how we are supporting case study schools and share tips and best practice around recruitment, engagement, funding and resourcing.

This session is ideal for those working with KS3 and KS4 and will also be useful for those supporting outreach activities for feeder primary schools or community groups.

Equipment to have with you for the session:
- 4 large marshmallows (remove from the bag one day before the session if possible)
- 7 bamboo skewers
- 1 thin rubber band
- 1 plastic teaspoon
- Small roll sticky tape or masking tape
- 5 mini marshmallows or small craft pom poms
- 1 shallow Gratnells (F1) tray
